LinkedIn Travels to China
LinkedIn recently announced its plans to expand its presence within 
China by launching a version of the site in simplified Chinese. Though many sites, like Facebook and Twitter, are banned in the country, LinkedIn has always been accessible to users in China, but only through an English version of the site. Currently, four million professionals in China use LinkedIn, out of a workforce of approximately 140 million. (NBC News)

The campaign became an instant sensation but now, The Milk Processor Education Program has decided to move forward with a new slogan - "Milk Life." You can categorize this prank as either very funny or very evil, but either way, it's genius. DHL delivery service decided to advertise their brand by using other carriers. How? The boxes were wrapped in thermo-active foil that hid the message when cooled and revealed the message as it was delivered. Carriers such as UPS delivered this huge DHL-branded packed, but DHL denies involvement in this prank. (AdWeek)

A Legal Sea Foods manager from Long Island, NY experienced fatal carbon monoxide poisoning this past weekend while at working at the restaurant. Entering crisis communication mode, the restaurant took to Facebook expressing its condolences and also issued a press release about the unfortunate incident, clarifying that the manager's death was caused by a fault in a flue pipe in a water heater. The case is still under investigation, but CEO Roger Berkowitz and his team has kept communication lines open with the media when it comes to speaking about the tragedy. So when Target decided to cross the border and open up its stores in Canada, the corporation was met with surprising results. Target's sales in Canada have plummeted, largely due to the recent security breach, and as a result, it is anticipated the company will post an $800 to $900 million loss for its Canadian operations. JPMorgan Chase is cutting 8,000 jobs across its consumer and community banking division in 2014, the corporation recently announced. This figure represents a projected 20% cut of total branch staff between 2011 and 2015. The good news? The bank will be adding about 3,000 jobs in other parts of the firm, so overall job cuts will only total 5,000. (CNN Money)
